A total of 13 officers from Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and the US Forest Service found a large marijuana garden near Tahoe National Forest property between Graniteville and the Town of Washington in eastern Nevada County.

Officers were successful in pulling out 8625 plants which were still young as it is early in the growing season. The growers of the garden were not found and hence no arrests were made. The officials also reported that the debris left at the place was consistent with the Mexican drug organization which are also known to use public lands.

Since no suspects were found in the garden when the officers arrived, they were suspecting that the people growing the garden may have been tending another garden in the near by area.
