How to Prevent Bleeding Gums?

Filed under: Health — Winson @ 11:08 AM

Bleeding gums is a condition in which the blood comes out from the gum-line as well as the spaces between the teeth of the person. It is a common problem faced by most people in the world. If you are in a situation where the bleeding of gums is too severe, you should see the dentist immediately, or there you may face complications.

Gum bleeding indicates that you have some gum disease. The disease responsible for gum bleeding is gingivitis. This gum disease occurs because of the formation of plaque( bacterial toxins on the food particles) on the teeth. It is also known as periodontal disease, which if you ignore can lead to permanent tooth loss. However there are many other reasons that are also responsible for causing bleeding gums.

Below are some of the tips for preventing the bleeding of gums:

  • The first thing is you need to brush your teeth with a proper toothpaste twice a day which will help you remove food particles and bacteria from your teeth.
  • Floss at-least once a day to remove the bacteria which is present between the teeth.
  • Use oral anti-bacterial rinses to clean your mouth. It kills the bacteria. Sometimes even brushing and flossing cannot work effectively because the brush cannot reach the corners of the teeth.
  • Eat healthy diet so that your gums will get all vitamins.
  • Rinse your teeth with salt water if you are not having oral mouth washes.
  • Visit the dentist if you are having severe bleeding of gums.
  • Apply pressure directly with your finger on the affected area so that the blood does not come out.
